Helpful tips on weight loss and the physician-directed diet
Losing weight requires, above anything else, motivation. Rapid weight loss with the physician-directed diet can be very motivating to someone who has decided to make a change in his or her life and wants to take action quickly. It helps people get past the weight loss phase in their life quickly so they can transition in to weight maintenance and even body sculpting as soon as possible. Here are some tips regarding the physician-directed diet or any other weight loss regimen.
BE PERSISTENT AND CONSISTENT
To lose weight you must be persistent and consistent. The physician-directed diet has food guidelines that require discipline from you to limit your calorie intake and to stay away from certain foods. For maximal results, you will need to follow the program very closely and be consistent. If you cheat, you will not lose as much weight as you can. We find that when people cheat on the diet, it is not typically because they are hungry but rather because of social situations such as going to dinner parties or restaurants. You must be strong!
WHY SO MANY DIET PROGRAMS FAIL
The biggest reason most diet and exercise programs fail is because people lose their motivation. It is difficult to work so hard with diet and exercise only to lose weight very slowly or not at all. One of the biggest reasons for the success of the physician-directed diet is the immediate results and positive feedback people get as soon as they start the diet. There is nothing more motivating than losing 20-40 pounds in 40 days!
Another common reason for people's failure to lose weight with any program is because they do not have the support they need. Ideally, if you have a significant other, you will do this diet together. If not, don't worry. Our friendly staff will help you step by step throughout the program and your visits to our office and with our trainer will further support your efforts. Another source of support comes from the internet where many very happy physician-directed diet clients have started message boards and blogs to provide a "virtual" community.
DO NOT TAKE ANY KIND OF WEIGHT LOSS MEDICATION WITHOUT MEDICAL SUPERVISION
Do not attempt to do the physician-directed diet or any other diet requiring medication without adequate supervision from a physician. Metabolic boosters and other weight loss medications such as phentermine require a doctor's prescription. There is a significant fraudulent community on the internet selling fake or illicit drugs claiming to be the real thing. In addition to getting the appropriate medication, a doctor should evaluate your health with an office visit and laboratory studies to assure that you are healthy enough for a medical weight loss program and to make sure that there are no other underlying causes for your extra weight. During the program, additional blood tests and exams must be performed to make sure that you complete the program safely and successfully.
